Classy and non-recurring event! BRASS MUSIC NOW AND EVERor Music from the Heart of Europe |
This is the name of a great show of Bohemian and Moravian brass bands to be performed in the Sazka Arena in Prague on October 7, 2006.
The festival being intended to remind of the existence of brass bands and their musical traditions in the Czech Lands extends an invitation to the brass music cradle for enthusiasts from all European countries and from all over the world, where the Czech classical compositions of this genre are much sought-after and appreciated. There will be 16 most demanded brass orchestras from Bohemia and Moravia staged here. Such a presentation of that many renowned Czech bands at one stage and within one day has never taken place anywhere. Thus it will be a unique musical experience and of course an agreeably spent time in the largest state-of-the-art Czech sports and culture palace.

The event will take place under auspices of the Mayor of Prague, Pavel Bém, of the chief general staff officer of the Czech Army, lieutenant general Pavel Štefka and the Czech Parliament deputy, member of the Parliament committee for science, education, culture, youth and sports, Petr Bratský.
PROGRAMME:
9 – 11 a . m. - concert of the brass bands together with programme inputs of majorettes in selected places of Prague and in front of the Sazka Arena.
11 a .m. – 6 p.m. - main programme, which will start in the palace with the opening ceremony and performance of 300 majorettes from all over the Czech Lands.
Own programme – 8 bands from Bohemia, 8 bands from Moravia

Finally, a giant concert of all participating bands will take place, which alltogether will perform the world famous song ŠKODA LÁSKY (ROLL OUT THE BARREL) composed by Jaromír Vejvoda ***
Certainly thousands of fans and supporters are looking forward to come to the Sazka Arena in Prague and they are about to create the right atmosphere in Czechia´s state-of-the-art sports and culture palace, a kettle-drum of songs and enthusiasm. Thus they will support not only the favorite bands but also brass music, folk songs and folklore in general. If this nationwide largest palace can be filled up by enthusiasts of other musical genres, we believe that it will be the same with enthusiasts of brass and folk music.
We would like to invite to the Sazka Arena everybody who has been loving brass and folk music, and this together with seniors, who have loved the brass music most. Because youth brass orchestras and primary art schools ensembles will participate in the programme too, also young people will certainly attend it. The palace will be filled up with hundreds of smart and most beautiful majorettes from all over Czechia, who being accompanied by brass bands will present their skills to the audience. For young and old, a plethora of other amazements is waiting on the programme. All available techniques, including a huge hanging cube in the centre of the palace and illuminated track on the parapet around the palace, will be used. Details of musicians, video spots about bands and songs will be screened on them. A great show all-inclusive.
Brass bands festival in the Sazka Arena is a chance of note for interested people not only from all over Czechia but also from all neighbour countries to see the Arena and to take part in a classy and non-recurring event – simply BRASS MUSIC IN ONE BREATH!
To mention one of many interesting aspects – there will be round 150 prettiest songs and melodies, dance and folklore ensembles as well as about 300 majorettes presented, and the best achievements in the Brass Music Hit Parade of the Czech Radio 2 – Prague will be announced. The most renowned Czech brass band Moravanka headed by Jan Slabák will observe the 35th anniversary of its foundation here. All participants will be well treated, also from the gastronomic point of view. It will be an intense cultural experience and agreeably spent time in the largest and the most modern Czech sports and culture palace.
